Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist is an author. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder the magazine The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer, philanthropist, television personality as well as the proprietor of the independently free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece, Arianna Huffington moved to England with her family at 16 years old. In Cambridge University she earned a MA degree in Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to serve as the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Following graduation, she left her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed a voice-based website that provided critical views regarding the state of affairs. Her celebrity status helped her by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to post their views about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to contest as an independent candidate in the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. She also headed a Detroit fuel-efficient car project. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in the list. In the same year Guardian included her in the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she became president of the media company. It included a variety of AOL properties at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos who was a Journalism and management expert. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with both her father and mother, it was their bond that helped shape her. From her early years, she displayed leadership qualities that are still highly regarded. At the age of 16 the girl moved in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. At Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debating club. As the third woman president and first foreigner, she was the president of Cambridge Union. In 1972, she earned an education in Economics. After her graduation she became a columnist, critic as well as a TV host. In addition, she was a part of the show Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from him.
