Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, author, philanthropist, television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece and moved to England when she was 16. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. She was the first person who was not from the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. A conservative syndicated blogger when she graduated, she was able to be the voice of Huffington Post. The fame she gained enabled her to get a variety of celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, political and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided to run as an Independent candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna led an initiative in Detroit campaign to encourage fuel-efficient automobiles. She was named one of the Most Influential Women in Media according to Forbes in 2009, and was awarded the 12th place in that list. That same year Guardian named her on the 100 most influential media on their list. AOL, Inc. appointed her President of their media company in 2011, after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included the other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list or Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. Her life was shaped by her closeness to her mother as well as her relationship with her father, despite being extremely close to him. Through her early times, she demonstrated abilities to lead, and for this are still prominently known. At the age of 16, she moved from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years in which she became the first woman to be elected president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. After her graduation, she was a critic columnist and television host. Her appearance on Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She began to write books, taking his help in editing.
