April Ross
April Ross has won more than one medal at the Olympics. She is one of the few women beach volleyball athletes who have done so. In Tokyo over the next several days, she'll try to win her third gold medal with fellow first-time Olympian Alix Klineman. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic gold medal. In fact, at 39, this could be her final chance to do so. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. If we perform at our very top or do well, I believe we'll be able to win that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Additionally, I'm going to rely on a bit of luck. Ross was born in the city of Costa Mesa, California in 1982. Her parents and sister lived there. Ross played in numerous sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. Her pre-athletic career comprised indoor volleyball, as well as basketball as well as running and track. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. As a time at the high school level in her university biography she played as an outside-hitter, middle blocker and setter. The results of her efforts were acknowledged by her being named 1999 Gatorade's National Circle of Champions Players of the Year. In 2000, she was named Orange County Athlete of the Year for volleyball. Although Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing since the year 2017, Klineman had already been a major participant on the beaches long before their pairing. As a matter of fact Ross has won a number of significant tournaments during her time with two partners. One of them is a volleyball legend. She teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and also was Klineman's coach. Together, Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international stage, claiming the world championship in 2009. They went through to take home a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May Treanor and Kerri Jennings, the legend team which was the winners of the 2012 Olympics in London, edged them out to win the gold. Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she had retired. The duo won bronze in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in the year 2016. After high school and several years prior to hitting the sand as a pro Ross was a ball to the Trojans at USC while an collegiate. Ross's playing time with the Trojans was remarkable. As a freshman in 2000 she played her way to Pac-10 as well as NCAA All-American Freshman of Year honors and was an All-American. Additionally, she assisted her Trojans get to the Final Four. In her sophomore year, she suffered a tremendous personal loss but still managed to be a second All-American. Through her final two seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them to win two consecutive titles. She had established herself as an all-time legend by winning the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the nation's top female collegiate volleyball player. Ross who was an USC international relations major, was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, was never given the privilege of watching Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001, when Ross was still a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. She is devoted to her late parent. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her both in and out of the water.
